Allison L. DeBoef, 41, of Oskaloosa and formerly of rural New Sharon passed away as a result of an auto accident, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, near Pella, Iowa.

Allison Louise DeBoef, daughter of Robert Lee DeBoef and Jeanine Ann (Vandegeest) Stewart, was born August 1, 1973, in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

Allison’s family lived in rural New Sharon and she attended North Mahaska Schools through the 4th grade, when they moved to Oskaloosa. She was a 1991 graduate of Oskaloosa High School.

Allison then moved to Des Moines where she was employed by a variety of businesses including Fareway. She returned to Oskaloosa in 2010 and enrolled in Indian Hills Community College, where she earned her certification in Early Childhood Development, a two year program. Allison then opened her own daycare, Miss Allie’s Child Care, in her home. She operated the daycare until her untimely death.

Allison attended the Evangelical Church of Oskaloosa and she belonged to Mahaska Wapello Early Childhood Iowa, an organization for the betterment of children.

Allison had a huge heart, with enormous patience and perseverance. These qualities enabled her to be a natural and nurturing childcare provider. She was everyone’s friend and loved animals throughout her life; she made pets of everything, including one of her father’s calves. One of Allison’s favorite collections were her frogs, they symbolized her life motto: Fully Rely On God.

Her family includes her mother, Jeanine Stewart of Oskaloosa; her father and step-mother, Bob and Marlis DeBoef of New Sharon; her sisters and brothers-in-law: Melissa (& Kent) Schmidt of Cedar Falls, and their children: Jacob and Joshua; Robbyn (& Douglas) DeBruin of Oskaloosa, and their children: Anna, Trenton and Lindsay; a step-brother and step-sister-in-law, Ben (& Danielle) Klein of Riverview, FL, and their children: Kailee and Kraven; a step-sister and her fiancé, Sheila Klein (& Tyler Sirovy) of Oskaloosa, and her two children: Chase and Alexis Hougland; and her grandmother, Marie DeBoef of New Sharon.

Allison was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, Earl DeBoef; and her maternal grandparents, Andy and Mae Vandegeest.

Funeral services for Allison will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 8, 2015, at the Evangelical Church of Oskaloosa with Pastor David Brown of Omega Church officiating.
Cremation will follow the service and burial of her ashes will be held privately in Forest Cemetery.
