William Livezey, 70, of New Sharon died Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at the Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana, Texas.
Bill was born March 4, 1943, in Mahaska County, the son of William Howard and Mabel Augusta Wilcox Livezey. On March 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to Jean Wellman at the Baptist Church in Oskaloosa.
Early in life Bill worked at Farm Hand Inc. in Grinnell. Throughout life he worked various other places including: Pamco, Carter Steel, and Kelderman Manufacturing.
Bill had a lifelong passion for antiques and preserving the past. He was currently reclaiming wood from old barns and selling all over the country. He always looked forward to trips to Texas. Bill was a lifelong antique collector and dealer and enjoyed picking, buying and selling antiques of all kinds. He was a member of the NRA and Gold Prospectors of America. Bill was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and racing. Most of all he delighted in spending time with his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife of over 52 years, Jean Livezey of New Sharon; two sons: Bill (& Sandi) Livezey and John (& Angela) Livezey both of New Sharon; two daughters: Sue Davis of New Sharon and Sandy (& Bruce) Hartgers of Montezuma; 11 grandchildren: Chelsie Livezey, Steve Patterson, Lacy (& Ryan) McGriff, Parker Davis, Colton Livezey, Airianne (& Brad) Vonk Ashley (& Kevin) Broadway, Ally Livezey, Trent Maschmann, Brooke Maschmann, and Abbi Hartgers; 8 great grandchildren: Joesyn Patterson, Jase Patterson, Anson Wayne Walker II, Jonathan Lane Taylor, Shelby McGriff, Chelsey McGriff, Jackson Broadway, Mazzie Maschmann; a brother: Tom (& Elaine) Livezey of Oskaloosa; and a sister: Donna Hanna of Pella.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Lavonne Livezey.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at 10 A.M. at the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Dave Pinkerton officiating.
Burial will be in Bellefountaine Cemetery near Tracy. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin after 9:00 A.M. on Monday at the Bates Funeral Chapel with the family present at the funeral chapel from 5-7 P.M. Monday to greet friends and relatives.
