WARRIORS LEAVE THEIR MARK AT NEBRASKA GRADUATE CLASSIC

Lincoln, NE – The Indian Hills Men’s Track & Field squad took home 10 top-three finishes at the Nebraska Graduate Classic in at the Devaney Center Indoor Track on the University of Nebraska campus over the weekend.

Sophomore Raynier Galvez (Paterson, NJ/Passaic County) led the charge with a standout performance in the men’s 600-meter run, placing first overall with a time of 1:17.45, just 0.39 off of his school record set a year ago. Galvez, the 2025 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) DI Outdoor Track & Field National Champion in the 800-meter run, now ranks first in the nation this year in the 600-meter.

Galvez was joined by teammate Kemarrio Bygrave (Kingston, Jamaica/Jamaica College) who placed second overall with a time of 1:18.14, the fourth-best mark in program history while freshman Kohlby Newsom’s (Winfield, IA/Winfield Mt. Union) fifth-place time of 1:20.46, ranks eighth all-time at Indian Hills.

The Warriors brought home a runner-up finish and third-place showing in the men’s 200-meter dash as sophomores Damor Miller (Kingston, Jamaica/Excelsior) and Justin Gray (Memphis, TN/Southwind) clocked in with times of 21.87 and 21.91, respectively. Gray added a third-place showing in the 400-meter dash with a time of 48.25.

Freshman Brian Kiprop (Eldoret, Kenya/Kingston College) starred in the men’s mile, placing fourth overall with a personal-best time of 4:13.91, the third-fastest mark in school history. Kiprop currently ranks fifth in the nation in the event.

Sophomore Bailey Taig (Perth, Western Australia/Quinn’s Baptist College) placed fourth overall in the men’s 3,000-meter run with the seventh-best mark in the nation this year, clocking in with a time of 8:34.47. Taig’s mark is good enough for third all-time at Indian Hills.

Sophomore Joseph Cannon (Milwaukee, WI/Rufus King) took home a third-place finish in the men’s 60-meter dash with a time of 6.88.

Freshman Evan Beeler (Farragut, TN/Farragut) placed fourth overall in the men’s 1,000-meter run with a time of 2:27.85.

A pair of freshmen jumpers continued to make a splash to start their collegiate careers in their respective events as Joseph McDonald Jr. (Kingston, NY/Kingston) placed third overall in the high jump with a mark of 2.14 meters while Dayton Lamar (Denmark, IA/Fort Madison) earned a runner-up finish in the men’s long jump with a mark of 7.15 meters.

The Warriors return to action January 23 with a pair of events – the Iowa State Cyclone Open in Ames, IA and the Larry Wieczorek Invitational in Iowa City, IA.
