Steven Lee Davis, age 66, of Eddyville, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at his home in Eddyville surrounded by his loved ones. Steven was born on March 1, 1954, to James H. and Clara F. (Bougher) Davis in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Steven grew up and attended school in Eddyville.

On March 10, 1973, he was united in marriage to Cheryl Black at the St. James Church in Oskaloosa and to this union 3 children, Tina, Tonya, and Tara, were born. Steven and Cheryl shared 47 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Steven worked as a plumber for B & W Plumbing in Albia for many years before becoming a truck driver for Ben Shinn for several years.

He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and going for rides around the farm on his John Deere tractor. Above all else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren, who he loved to tease.

Steven is survived by his wife, Cheryl; 3 daughters: Tina (& James) Thomas, Tonya (& Tony) Price, and Tara (& Eric Eddy) Davis; 5 grandchildren: Zacheriah, Zoe, Andrew, Seth, and Draystin; 2 great grandchildren, Zaharah and Hayden; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Clara; 5 brothers; and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Tharp Funeral Home in Albia.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be present during this visitation time and no more than 10 people will be allowed in the funeral home at one time in order to stay in compliance. Please use common courtesy and plan accordingly.
