Statesmen of the Week: Moses Magens and Bronwyn Brenneman

Oskaloosa–Men’s soccer player Moses Magens (Grad., Elmshorn, Germany, Master’s of Sport Management) and women’s wrestler Bronwyn Brenneman (Jr., Parnell, Iowa, Biology) have been named Statesmen of the Week for December 2-8, a laurel presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Magens delivered a clutch performance last Tuesday, netting two pivotal goals to propel the Statesmen past Bethel and into uncharted territory—their first-ever NAIA National Championship quarterfinal appearance. Magens then helped the team to their inaugural semifinals and finals appearances.

At the Doane Open last Saturday, Brenneman delivered an outstanding performance in a highly-competitive 47-person bracket, finishing with an impressive 5-2 record. Her efforts included three technical falls and two pins, narrowly missing a spot on the podium.
