Statesmen of the Week: Lukas Hamilton and Taylor Witthauer

Oskaloosa–Football player Lukas Hamilton (Jr., Columbus, Ohio, Secondary Education) and women’s soccer player Taylor Witthauer (Sr., Vancouver, Wash., Nursing) have been named the Statesmen of the Week for the week of October 9-15, presented by Gardner-Collier Jewelry.

Hamilton accounted for half of William Penn’s 242-yard air attack in last Saturday’s 41-20 win over Clarke. The junior caught 13 passes for 121 yards and one touchdown. His score came on his longest reception of the day–a 25-yarder in the fourth quarter that sealed the Statesmen victory.

Witthauer managed nearly all of WPU’s offense last week, scoring both of the squad’s goals in a 2-1 victory over Mount Mercy last Wednesday. The senior, who leads her team with 11 goals, recorded nine shots (five on goal) versus the Mustangs. Three days later, Witthauer added three more attempts against Missouri Valley.

Located in Oskaloosa’s Penn Central Mall, Gardner-Collier Jewelry is your hometown jeweler and can help you celebrate any special occasion.
