Statesmen Fall One Spot in Latest Poll
Oskaloosa–The William Penn men’s soccer team took another mini hit nationally as the NAIA released its fourth top-25 poll Wednesday.
WPU (6-1-3, 1-0-2 Heart) slipped one spot from last week’s poll, down to 16th with 251 points.
Four teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference are listed in the rating with MidAmerica Nazarene leading the way at #6. Missouri Valley is still ranked in the top 25 at #22, while Baker is new to the receiving votes section with an unofficial ranking of #30.
For the second week in a row, Mid-America Christian (Okla.) is ranked first in the NAIA with 498 points and 17 first-place votes. Dalton State (Ga.) heads the rest of the top five with St. Thomas (Fla.) (STU owns final first-place vote), Grace (Ind.), and Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) following.
William Penn returns to Oskaloosa Saturday to face #6 MidAmerica Nazarene in Heart action at 12 p.m.
