Osky 8th Grade Volleyball Too Much For Pella

The 8th grade Volleyball team was in action against Pella last night.
The A team had a dominating 3-0 sweep with game scores of 21-10, 21-8, 21-11. Cylee Smith had 10 kills and 8 aces. Jenna Harbour had 7 kills, 3 assists, and 4 aces. Cadence Grubb had 4 kills, 2 blocks, and 3 aces. Ireland McGraw had 3 kills, 2 blocks, and 2 aces. Celli Pilcher had one assist, 10 digs, and 6 aces. Hannah VanArkel had one kill and 3 aces. Haylee Parker had one kill, 22 assists, and 11 aces. The girls stayed on their toes through all 3 games and worked together well for the win!
The B team went 2-1 with game scores of 23-21, 17-21, and 21-13. Leaders for the B team were Leah Lorentzen with 3 kills, 3 digs, and 8 aces. Aleigha Sheets with 2 kills, Emily Medina with 2 kills. Kyleigh Carmer with 1 kill, 2 digs, and 6 aces. Kennedi Wright with 5 assists and 2 aces. Kenna Grubb had 4 aces and Kaylee Main had 2 aces.
C team went 3-3 against Pella. They lost the first three games by scores of 10-21, 4-21, and 20-22 but won the next three 21-17, 21-13, and 21-5. Serving was a huge factor in our wins. Katelynn Watts led all Indian servers, going 17 for 20 with 14 aces. Emma Rowley was 11 for 11 with seven aces. Addicen Briggs contributed four aces while Maddy Brown had three. Hailey Montgomery, Paige Vandermeiden, Brooklyn Coenen, Destiny Harrison, and Nova Plate each had two aces. On offense, Lucy McKim led the team with four kills while Hailey M., Maddy B., Katelynn W., Nova P., and Rylee Harbour each had one. Paige V. and Zayva Claussen also each notched one assist. This was a huge improvement over our first match, and we’re looking forward to big things in next week’s contests.
