Oskaloosa High School Pheasants Forever Chapter members

Friday evening saw a gathering and dinner of the High School Pheasants Forever Chapter Oskaloosa Pioneering Ringnecks, in the High School Cafeteria on Friday, November 12 at 5:30 pm.

For some background on Pheasants Forever, according to their website “Pheasants Forever is dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education and land management policies and programs.” Pheasants Forever was incorporated in 1982.

Oskaloosa’s High School Chapter of Pheasants Forever is the first high school chapter in the nation according to Brooks VanDerBeek.  Currently the chapter is doing some small habitat projects, trying to teach hands on conservation.

They were expecting 75 guests for the evenings event of dinner, live auction and silent auction, Plinko, reverse bingo. A Raffle for an original painting by Paul Faulkes, the Oskaloosa Iowa High School Art Teacher.

If interested in becoming a member, you can speak with VanDerBeek or any of the other chapter members, or student advisor Mr. Michael Goudy High School Science Teacher. You can also email VanDerBeek at bb2-22@hotmail.com and he can contact you that way as well.
