OMS Volleyball Sweeps Panthers

The 7th grade volleyball team was in action for the first time of the 2017 season last night. The girls faced off against Knoxville.
The A-team would start the season with a sweep of the Panthers with scores of 15-12, 15-12, 15-12, 15-11, and 15-12. The team was led by Lucy Roach with 9 aces and 2 kills followed by Maleah Walker with 4 aces, Presley Blommers with 2 aces, Faith VanMersbergen with 1 ace, and Kyndedi Humphrey with 1 kill.
The B-team would battle hard, but fell to Knoxville with scores of 6-15, 15-12, 6-15, 15-17, and 9-15. The team was led by Mallory Bihn and Adriana Ramos with 4 aces each followed by Katelyn Marsh and Ally Nolan with 2 each and Isabelle Fuller with 1 ace.
The C/D team would take 7 of 10 from the panthers with scores of 15-10, 6-15, 15-12, 15-9, 12-15, 15-7, 15-10, 15-12, 15-10, 10-15. The team was led by Mackenzie Wheaten with 6 aces followed by Shakira Shillings and Andalyn Ide with 5 each, Izzy Larson with 4, Morgan Ford with 3 and Lilly McKay, Ava Doty, Alley Bunnell and Macy Braden with 1 ace each.
The girls will be back in action on Monday as they face Pella Christian at home starting at 4:30.
