NAVE LANDS SECOND CONSECUTIVE NATIONAL HONOR
December 16, 2024
Ottumwa, IA – Sophomore All-American Dymonde Nave (Sioux Falls, SD/Sioux Falls Lincoln) continued a torrid start to the year with another record-breaking performance. For her efforts, Nave lands her second consecutive national athlete of the week honor.
Nave, who was named both the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Athlete of the Week last week, re-wrote the Indian Hills record books in the women’s 60-meter hurdles event. Nave broke her own school record in the prelims with a time of 8.60 before running away in the finals with a blistering time of 8.49, 0.20 seconds ahead of the runner-up finisher.
Nave has now broken her own 60mH school record in four consecutive races to open the 2024-25 season. The sophomore is coming off a runner-up finish in last year’s NJCAA DI Women’s Track & Field Outdoor National Championship in the 100-meter hurdles.
Nave becomes just the second individual in school history to win multiple national athlete of the week honors, joining Oarabile Tshosa in 2023.
The Warriors head into the holiday break before returning to action January 17 at the Nebraska Graduate Classic in Lincoln, NE.
