Knoxville. Milton E. Fisher, 82, of Knoxville, and formerly of Fremont and Oskaloosa, went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 7, 2012, while being cared for at the Knoxville Hospital in Knoxville, Iowa. He was born September 12, 1929, at Sterling, Illinois, the son of Paul C. and Elva M. Cady Fisher. In 1959 Milton was united in marriage to JoAnne Miller, they later divorced. Milton worked at John Deere in Waterloo in the foundry for 27 years; he retired from Deere in October of 1983. In 1986, he moved to the Oskaloosa area. On June 6, 1986, he was united in marriage to Florence Prince at Waterloo; Florence died September 9, 1997. In the mid 1990’s Milton moved to Fremont and then in 2000 moved to Knoxville. He truly enjoyed sporting events of all kinds, he especially enjoyed watching and rooting for the: Chicago Cubs, Kansas City Royals, Boston Red Sox and the Iowa State Cyclones. He also loved music.
He is survived by his twin brother, Melvin (& Vera) Fisher of Mesa, Arizona; and his close friends in Oskaloosa, Harvey and Margie Calvin.
In addition to his wife Florence, he was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside memorial service and burial will be held Wednesday, September 12, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the T’ Lam Cemetery near Pella with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. A procession will form at 1:15 Wednesday afternoon at the Bates Funeral Chapel for those wishing to go to the cemetery. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. As was Milt’s wish his body has been cremated and no visitation is planned.
