Martha Jane Kinkade, 81, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Sigourney, died Friday, September 14, 2012, at the Northern Mahaska Nursing and Rehab Center in Oskaloosa. She was born October 26, 1930, in Keokuk County, Iowa, the daughter of Bryan and Addie Baughman Sellers. She graduated from the Delta High School with the class of 1948. She was a homemaker. She moved to Oskaloosa in 2010. She was a member of the Delta Christian Church and attended the Delta Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and was an immaculate housekeeper. She enjoyed playing Bingo later in life. She delighted in being with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her family includes her three daughters, Diane Ferneau of University Park, Debra (& Don) Nuetzhorn of Nixa Missouri, and Denise (& John) Fry of Keswick; four grandchildren, Amy, Nichole, Christine(& Nathan), and Robert (& Keri); nine great grandchildren; a sister, Marguerite Kirkpatrick of North Carolina; a brother, Paul (& Karen) Sellers of Sigourney; and many nieces and nephews.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother in infancy, Dwight Sellers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Reverend James Bringman officiating. As was Martha’s wish her body will be cremated following the funeral ceremony. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Garrett Cemetery at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Monday after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Monday evening from 6-8 to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Mahaska Hospice.
