MAHASKA COUNTY – Gronewold, Bell, Kyhnn & Co. P.C. CPAs, have released an audit report on Mahaska Health Partnership in Oskaloosa, Iowa.

According to Chris Nelson, audit partner, MHP’s revenues totaled $42,459,100 for fiscal year 2013, which runs from July 1, 2012 through June 30, 2013. This is an 8.0 percent increase from the prior year. The revenues included $39,414,300 in net patient revenue, $599,000 of other operating revenue, $1,914,000 from county taxes and $29,200 in interest on investments.

Expenses for the year totaled $41,074,900, an 8.9 percent increase from the prior year, and included $18,899,900 for other professional services, $9,558,100 for nursing services and $7,545,200 for fiscal and administrative services.

Nelson said the increase in revenues and expenses is primarily due to increases in inpatient and outpatient services provided. A copy of the audited report will soon be available for review in the office of the Auditor of State and the Hospital Administrator’s office.

“We have put a lot of focus on increasing the number of providers available at MHP to help assure that we can meet our community’s healthcare needs locally, and people have responded by coming here for their medical needs,” said MHP CEO Jay Christensen. “We look forward to continued growth with more new providers coming in fiscal year 2014.”
