Brooke Lunsford, 18, of rural Eddyville competed at National American Miss

Brooke Lunsford, 18, of rural Eddyville competed Thanksgiving week in Anaheim, CA at the National competition of National American Miss. She finished 4th runner up overall in the National Talent competition with her vocal solo “The Climb”.

During the week long competition, she also got to have some fun at Disneyland, on a Hollywood Tour, and at Sea World. One of the highlights of the trip were the Hollywood Walk of Fame and getting to walk along the beaches at Santa Monica and look for sea shells, see the ocean for the first time, and visit the Santa Monica Pier. She turned 18 on Thanksgiving Day and attended a special Thanksgiving Banquet on her birthday.

Brooke will again be traveling to Los Angeles, California in January to compete in the IMTA’s (International Model & Talent Agency). She was chosen to attend this competition by a management company out of Cedar Rapids after a talent scout saw her at the State National American Miss competition in Waterloo where she won Talent, Top Model, Academic Achievement, Best Resume, Spirit of America Award, 2nd runner up Photogenic, and 4th runner up Actress. She had to attend several auditions in Cedar Rapids to be chosen to attend the IMTA’s. She is being mentored and coached by Actor/Singer/Model Riley Smith, and will compete in the following categories at the IMTA’s: Singing, Theatrical Headshots, Screen Test, TV Real People, Monologue, Cold Read, and Entertainment Host.

Brooke is currently a Senior at EBHS. Her parents are Mark & Linda Lunsford.
