Louis W. “Bill” Jones

Belton, MO. Louis W. “Bill” Jones, 78, of Belton, MO passed away November 19, 2010. Visitation will be 6-8pm Monday, November 22, 2010 at Cullen Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2pm Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma, Iowa with visitation 1-2pm. Burial will be in Barnes City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, American Legion Post #507 or Barnes City Cemetery Association.

Bill was born October 3, 1932 in Poweshiek County, Iowa, the son of Louis H. and Lela M. Bryan Jones. He served 20 years in the Air Force, recruiter for 4 years, co-owned and managed a furniture store, was a clerk and carrier for the US Postal Service, worked for Cook Paint, and Marion Laboratories retiring in 1988. He was a member of the American Legion Post #507, disabled American Veterans, and the NRA.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Earl Jones; sister, Gwenda Walker; son in-law, Jim Burandt. He is survived by his wife, Janice; son, Mark Jones and wife Carolyn; three daughters, Jolene Burandt, Cheryl Richards and husband Colin and Janet Lawson and husband David; sister, Charlotte Plate and husband Glen; seven grandchildren, Danielle, Nicolas, Rebecca, Breanne, Sally, Sarah and Richard; five great grandchildren, Amelia, MaKayla, Gabriel, Julian and Charlie.
