Lila Anna Dorothea Frazier

Lila Anna Dorothea Frazier, 95, of Grinnell, Iowa and formerly of Wichita, Kansas was called home by the Lord on February 22, 2011, at Windsor Manor in Grinnell. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Smith Funeral Home in Grinnell. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Lila Frazier Memorial Fund.

Lila was born on May 28, 1915, in Guernsey, Iowa, the daughter of William H. and Freda M. Jahlas Cordes, who both emigrated from Germany as children with their families. She graduated from Guernsey Consolidated High School in 1932 and attended the American Institute of Business in Des Moines for clerical training. After working in Des Moines and Omaha for several years, she moved to Wichita.

On July 30, 1960, she was united in marriage to Edmund Eberle, in Wichita, where the couple continued to live. She retired in 1977 after working for twenty years with Humphrey Products, Inc. Edmund also retired in 1977 after a long career with Cessna Aircraft Company and they enjoyed ten years of retirement together before Edmond passed away on June 7, 1987. After becoming very active as a volunteer at the Boston Park Senior Center in Wichita, Lila met another active volunteer and a widower, Patrick H. Frazier. They were married on February 2, 1992, in Wichita, and Lila was welcomed into a loving extended family provided by Patrick’s two children by his first marriage, Cy Frazier and Pati Rhea and their families. Patrick was called to the Lord’s side on December 27, 2006. She became a resident of Windsor Manor in Grinnell in July of 2009.

Lila enjoyed dancing, singing and playing the organ. She also enjoyed playing bingo and cards. She loved to entertain family and friends in her home. She was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include two step-children, Cy Frazier and Pati Rhea of Wichita and one sister, Wilma Watkins of Grinnell.
