The Main Street office of the Oskaloosa Area Chamber and Development Group would like to invite you to participate in the 2018 Main Street Lighted Christmas Parade. The parade will be held Thursday night only, November 29 at 7:00 pm.

The theme this year is “Sights & Sounds of Christmas”. Plan now to help Main Street make this 31st annual parade the BEST EVER. As always lighting your entry is a must, and of course you’ll want to identify your entry with a sign or a banner. For safety reasons candy or any other item must be handed out from the sidewalk, nothing can be distributed from the street! There is to be no solicitations. Contact the office for prior approval for any items to be distributed.

Best Overall traveling trophies & runner-up certificates will be awarded in nine categories: Business Classes- Small, Medium, & Large; Non-Profit; Church; Music; Individual; Out-Of-Town (non-52577 zip); Animals and Judges’ Choice. Judging criteria may include lights, theme, music, & originality. Awards will be presented Saturday, December 1 at the Merry Little Christmas Event, 5 pm in Downtown Oskaloosa. Entrants are invited to bring their float to this event for display as well.

Entry forms have been mailed to many and inserted into the Communicator newsletter that was mailed to OACDG members. Forms are also available at www.oacdg.org in the events section. Return entry forms to the OACDG office by Friday, October 26; and you will receive a confirmation letter with your entry number, starting location and a narration form. If you have any questions or would like to receive an entry form, please call Main Street at 641-672-2591. Thank You!
