Le Ann Harrington, 54, of Oskaloosa died Friday, January 15, 2016, at the MHP Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa. She was born July 28, 1961, in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of James and Vada Van Benthuysen Harrington.

Le Ann earned her diploma from Knoxville High School. Early on she worked at C.O.C. in Pella. In March of 1990, she moved to Oskaloosa into Diamond Place of Imagine the Possibilities. She worked a variety of jobs at Imagine the Possibilities.

Le Ann enjoyed listening to music, watching movies, working on crafts, playing softball, and participating in the Special Olympics. She also loved animals, especially dogs and ponies. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Le Ann’s family is most grateful for the excellent and loving care Le Ann received while living at Imagine the Possibilities/Diamond Place and most recently at Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

Her family includes her mother, Vada Messamaker of Harvey; a sister, Elaine (& Tim) Maher of Nicholsville, Kentucky; three brothers: Paul (& Joyce) Harrington of Harvey, Max (& Marjorie) Harrington of Sheridan, Illinois, and Roger (& Carol Ann) Harrington of Ollie; her special friend, Shelly Wheaton of Oskaloosa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father; and her step father, Bill Messamaker.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January20, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Jeff Morris officiating.
Burial will be in the Bellefountaine Cemetery near Tracy. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation with the family will be held Wednesday morning from 10 until service time at 11.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Imagine the Possibilities, Diamond Place.
