Larry Morrow, 78 of rural Victor passed away Monday morning, February 20, 2017 surrounded by his family at home. Larry Lee Morrow, the son of Lee Morrow and Edith (Roland) Mouchka was born on April 16, 1938 in Montezuma, Iowa.

Larry attended Newton and Barnes City Schools before graduating from Deep River in 1956. On January 26, 1958, Larry was united in marriage to Patricia Hinrichs at St. John’s Lutheran Church. To this union, four children were born, Scotty, Tammy, Wesley and Kandi.

Larry worked for Wemers, Barnes City Elevator and farmed. He farmed in the Deep River and Victor area for 59 years and also worked for Morrow Construction from 1993 to 2010.

Larry was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was instrumental in his children and grandchildren attending Parochial School. He enjoyed camping, riding horses, mushroom hunting and above all playing cards, especially Euchre and Huck-a-Buck. He was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed his yearly hunts with his hunting buddies. Larry was a Charter member of the Deep River Saddle Club, the Farm Bureau, he served as a Lincoln Township Trustee and was a faithful member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church where he served as a trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Patricia Morrow of rural Victor; his children: Scotty (& Carol) Morrow of Deep River, Tammy (& Kevin) Dietrich of Walford, Wesley (& Teresa) Morrow of Parnell and Kandi Gensley of South Amana; 11 grandchildren: Ben (& Erin), Jamie, Jacque (& Luke), Dustin (& AnnaMarie), Clinton (& Beth), Preston, Colin, Kelsi, Kodi, Kammie and Kortni; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Donna (& Robert) Gorsuch of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Lona Bell; a brother-in-law, Garth (& Judy) Hinrichs; and many other relatives and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Betty Mouchka and Shirley Hall; and a close friend, Lou Wheeler.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Thursday, February 23, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in rural Victor.
Burial will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, February 22, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers and memorial stones, memorial contributions may be made to the Larry Morrow Memorial Fund.

Larry’s family would like to give a special thank you to Essence of Life Hospice in Amana, Iowa and to Dr. William Fusselman and staff from the Physicians Clinic of Iowa – Hematology & Oncology in Cedar Rapids for the wonderful care they gave Larry.
