Kathy Cooper, 77, of Rose Hill, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Mahaska Health Partnership Hospice Serenity House in Oskaloosa.

Kathy Cooper, daughter of Albert Summers and Alice Maude (Paxton) Eddy, was born, October 2, 1938, in Davis County, Iowa.

Kathy’s early education was in Troy, Iowa and she then attended Packwood schools. After her education Kathy began working as a waitress at local restaurants. On March 3, 1960 she was united in marriage to Bill Cooper.

The two moved to Rose Hill, Iowa and she began her career in raising livestock. Kathy loved her animals and especially loved raising her hogs and chickens. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Her family includes her husband, Bill Cooper of Rose Hill, IA; two sons, Kevin and John Cooper of Rose Hill, IA; 5 grandchildren; one brother, Jack (& Judy) Eddy of Fairfield, IA; one niece; and two nephews.

In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Kay Cooper; and a brother, William “Bill” Eddy.

As was her wish, Kathy’s body has been cremated.
Burial of her ashes will be in Jackson Cemetery, near Rose Hill, at a later date.
