Josh Latcham, 24, of Oskaloosa, died, Sunday, January 17, 2016, at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, as a result of injuries received in an accident. He was born Tuesday, September 17, 1991, in Mahaska County, the son of Teresa Moore and David Scott Latcham.
Josh attended Oskaloosa High School. Following school, he went to work as a contractor for T.J.A. Construction. Josh was a talented carpenter and mechanic. He enjoyed working on his car, dirt bikes, four wheelers, and bikes. He also enjoyed riding his BMX bike and being a part of the 3B1 club in Oskaloosa. Josh liked to listen to music, snowboard, and water-ski. Most of all he looked after his family and always made sure that their needs were met.
His family includes his parents, Teresa Latcham of Oskaloosa and Scott (& Jana) Latcham of Oskaloosa; brothers and sisters: Brittiney (& Gary) Haynes of Fairfield, Brookelynne Latcham of Knoxville, Jordan Latcham of Oskaloosa, Olivia Latcham of Jacksonville, Arkansas, Bentley Latcham of Jacksonville, Arkansas, and David Latcham of Jacksonville, Arkansas; two nieces, Bayleigh and Savannah; a nephew, Sebastian; his paternal grandmother, Patricia McMorran of Oskaloosa; maternal grandparents: Debbie (& Scott) Messamaker of Indianola, and Terry (& Debbie) Rees of Rose Hill; his great grandmother, Halene Fleener of Oskaloosa; and his dog Khona.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Donavon Latcham; maternal great grandparents, Ellen & Junior Moore; and a niece, Sierra.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating.
Burial will be in the Butler Cemetery west of Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will begin Friday after 12 noon in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral chapel from 5-7 Friday evening to greet friends and relatives.
