Jean Utterback

Oskaloosa. Jean Utterback, 77, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born May 17, 1933, at Oskaloosa, the daughter of Don and Lottie Norris Malin. She graduated from the Oskaloosa High School with the class of 1952. On September 5, 1956, she was united in marriage to Jerry Utterback and later divorced. She worked a variety of jobs including: Maid-Rite, Woolworths, Montgomery Wards and lastly A&W until illness forced her retirement in 1993. She enjoyed collecting bears, dolls and Breyer Statue Horses. She also enjoyed cooking and bird watching. She was baptized in the Christian Church.

Her family includes her two daughters, Cindy Pearson of Hedrick and Debbie (& Dean Hughes) Utterback of Rose Hill; for grandchildren: Christine Pearson, Somer Pearson, Mike (& Sara) Hughes, and Nikki Hughes; two great grandchildren: Jordan and Cole Hughes;

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Michael Utterback.

According to her wishes her body has been cremated and no services are planned. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of local arrangements.
