Indians Cross County Compete In Dutch Invitational

The Oskaloosa XC team kicked off their Labor Day weekend in Pella at the Pella Dutch Invitational. Both teams finished 8th out of 12.

“We had a step in competition at this meet which was great to see where we stand with those teams.”

“I was really happy with the boys team which showed a lot of improvement from Tuesday’s meet. Will Roach ran a phenomenal race which pulled along the rest of our pack. Luke attacked the 2nd half of the race well while Blake, Reid Luck, and Sam had a nice pack to finish our scoring. I am pretty pleased to have the top 5 guys under 19:36 right now. We’ve shown a lot of growth in the past two weeks.”

“Tierney and Josie did an incredible job of competing for our girls team today. It is a pretty large meet that can be intimidating for freshman but those two went after it, pushed each other along, and ran incredible races. I can’t wait to see what those two do this year. As a team, we need to get a few girls closer to them if we want to have some success this year.”

The Indians are in action next on Thursday at Fairfield.
