GRINNELL’S WINICHAKUL NAMED TO 2011 ALL-MIDWEST CONFERENCE MEN’S SOCCER TEAM

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Pun Winichakul ’13 has been named to the 2011 All-Midwest Conference Men’s Soccer Team.

Winichakul, a defender from Madison, Wis. (West), was a second-team selection. Helping guide a young Pioneer squad, Winichakul helped the Pioneers develop in the later stages of the campaign as they won their final two contests and went 2-1-1 in their final four games.

He is also an Academic All-Conference selection.

The MWC Player of the Year was Monmouth College’s Logan Simpson, while the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year are Mahir Mameledzija of Lake Forest College and Adam Bruk of Carroll University, respectively. George Perry of Monmouth was named Coach of the Year.
