Green Named MWC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Isabel Green ’22, from Chapel Hill, N.C. (East Chapel Hill), has been named Midwest Conference Women’s Tennis Player of the Week.

Some tennis players go an entire career without earning a clinching win for a team victory – Green did it three times in one weekend. Green provided the winning match point as the Pioneers blanked Ripon College, Lawrence University and St. Norbert College 9-0 to open MWC play. She had little trouble in her singles wins, posting victories of 6-1, 6-2 against Ripon, 6-0, 6-1 at Lawrence and 6-2, 6-2 against St. Norbert. Green was equally dazzling in doubles, teaming with Brenda Guan ’20 to win 8-0 against Ripon, 8-1 against Lawrence and 8-3 at St. Norbert.
