Gov. Branstad, Lt. Gov. Reynolds to present Governor’s ROTC Award

(DES MOINES) – Governor Terry E. Branstad and Lt. Gov. Reynolds will present the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Governor’s ROTC Award for outstanding achievement to eight students from The University of Iowa, Iowa State University, Drake University, University of Dubuque, and the University of Northern Iowa.

The awards are presented annually by Governor Branstad to top students in eight ROTC programs at five universities. The awards “honor the men and women for leadership, academics, and military achievement.”

Receiving this year’s awards will be:

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Carl D. Beck, University of Northern Iowa Army ROTC, the son of Mrs. Cathleen Beck of St. Charles, Missouri.

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Thomas J. Fite, The University of Iowa Army ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. David Fite of Agency, Iowa.

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Trenton G. Fredrickson, Iowa State University Army ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Dana Fredrickson of Onalaska, Wisconsin.

Cadet Colonel Benjamin J. Harms, The University of Iowa Air Force ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. John Harms of Monticello, Iowa.

Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Bruce A. Large, University of Dubuque Army ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Bruce Large of Waynesville, Missouri.

Cadet Captain Joshua M. Moon, Drake University Army ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jeffrey Moon of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Staff Sergeant Michael C. Swenson, Iowa State University Naval ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Craig Swenson of Caledonia, Minnesota.

Cadet Colonel Casey L. Zoellick, Iowa State University Air Force ROTC, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jeffrey Zoellick of Carol Stream, Illinois.
