Fite, Luhring honored at Macalaster Invitational

FOREST GROVE, ORE.— Junior Kayleigh Fite (middle hitter, St. Louis, Mo., Trinity Catholic HS) and sophomore Landry Luhring (libero, Grundy Center) of the Central College women’s volleyball team were selected for the all-tournament team at the Macalaster Invitational over the weekend.

Central went 2-1 in three matches, sweeping Macalaster College (Minn.) and Bethany Lutheran College (Minn.).

Fite totaled 11 kills in three matches, but added eight blocks and nine digs. She had five kills apiece against Macalaster and the University of Wisconsin – River Falls.

Luhring had at least 14 digs in each match, pace by a 19-dig effort against Bethany Lutheran. She added five service aces and seven assists.

Senior Erin Dilger (right side hitter, Tinley Park,Ill., Lincoln Way-North HS) was an all-tournament honoree at the Oregon Trail Classic earlier in December.

The Dutch have four matches this weekend at the Knox Invitational in Galesburg, Illinois this Friday and Saturday.
