Diane Kay McReynolds, 65, of Oskaloosa died Monday, December 14, 2015, at her home in Oskaloosa. She was born June 6, 1950, at Humeston, Iowa, the daughter of Lloyd Oley and Melba Campbell Moon.
Diane graduated from Mormon Trail Community High School at Humeston, with the class of 1968. In 1969 she received her cosmetology license at Americana Academy of Beauty.
Following cosmetology school, Diane worked as a hairdresser at various places and lastly at New Sharon Care Center for many years.
Early on she married Allen McReynolds and from this union two children were born, Todd and Jill. They later divorced.
Diane enjoyed spending time at the river with the love of her life, Mike Fleener and friends. She also enjoyed boating, reading, decorating her home for the holidays, collecting shoes and purses, and loved finding a bargain. She had a great sense of style, loved to visit with people and was very devoted to caring for her loved ones.
Diane is survived by her son, Todd McReynolds of Oskaloosa; her daughter, Jill (& Shawn) Abernathy of Eddyville; two brothers: Ronnie (& Betty) Moon of Ankeny and Dennis (& Bonnie) Moon of Brooklyn, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Kay.
She was preceded in death by her significant other, Mike Fleener; her parents; two infant sons; a sister, Connie Marker; and a nephew, Chris Marker.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 21, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Andy Baker officiating.
As was Diane’s wish, her body will be cremated following the funeral.
Burial of the urn will be in Henness Cemetery southwest of Oskaloosa at a later date.
Visitation will begin Sunday after 11: a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the family present at the funeral chapel from 1 to 3 Sunday afternoon to greet friends and relatives.
Memorials may be made to the family.
