Graveside Service: 10 a.m., Friday morning, April 29, 2011 at Friends Cemetery in Oskaloosa with Military Honors by the Harry L. Anderson Post #34 of the American Legion, the VFW Post #2237 and DAV Post #21. Friends may gather at Garland-Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel at 9:30 a.m., and will proceed to the cemetery together at 9:45 a.m.
Clifford passed away early Wednesday morning at Crystal Heights Care Center at the age of 86 years and 11 months.
Clifford G. Lamb, son of Earl Ray and Etta Blanch Black Lamb, was born May 27, 1924 in Lake City, Minnesota. He was a 1942 graduate of Lake City High School. Following his service in the Army Cliff worked for a time for a lumber company in South Dakota. In 1949, Clifford moved to Oskaloosa where he worked for Kalbach Lumber Company, Oskaloosa Glass and D.S. Barr Paint and Glass Company. Clifford married Lenore Anna Gerard September 21, 1956 in Oskaloosa. They later moved to Oelwein, Iowa where he worked for Oelwein Glass, Reckimer Construction and Hardware Hank. Cliff retired in 1992 and he and Lenora returned to Oskaloosa in 1993, where he worked part-time for Oskaloosa Glass. Clifford was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking and computer games.
Clifford’s family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Fleeta and Emmett Ewing, a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sue Gerard, both of Oskaloosa, four grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Besides his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by wife on February 22, 1998, and two brothers: Neil and Gordon Lamb.
