Clay’s Top Tens Warrant MCC Accolade

Oskaloosa–Royce Clay (Sr., Miami, Fla., Booker T. Washington HS) performed well last weekend amidst poor conditions and for his efforts he was named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.

Competing at the Jim Duncan Invitational Saturday, Clay finished fourth in the triple jump at a season-best distance of 45-5.25 and seventh in the long jump at 21-3.25.

The senior, who is now a four-time league honoree, qualified for indoor nationals and is within striking distance of doing the same in the outdoor season. His best long jump from this spring is 21-11.75 at the Central Invitational earlier this month.

The award is the second for the William Penn track teams in the outdoor season, but it is the sixth overall, including four during the indoor campaign.
