Boswell Congratulates Principal Financial Group for Supporting Military Families

Des Moines, IA – Today, Congressman Leonard Boswell congratulated Principal Financial Group for being named a finalist for the 2011 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The Freedom Award is the Department’s highest recognition given to employers for exceptional support of their employees serving in the Guard and Reserve.

“Principal Financial Group deserves to be recognized for supporting their military employees and their families,” said Boswell, a 20-year military veteran. “With more than 3,000 Iowa Guard troops deployed in Afghanistan, it is more important than ever to honor an Iowa company that is going above and beyond in appreciating their military employees and making their transition to service easier.”

Principal Financial Group is one of only 30 finalists selected from 4,049 nominations received earlier this year from Guard and Reserve service members or their families.
