Body Of Elderly Woman Discovered Along 163

A Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, at approximately 1:35 am, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a body lying on the shoulder of the road in the 2500 block of Highway 163, in rural Mahaska County.

Upon Law Enforcement’s arrival, the deceased body of an elderly female was found on the shoulder of the road. This body has been sent to the Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office in Ankeny for an autopsy. The identity of this female is not being released and the cause of death is unknown at this time.

A preliminary investigation indicates that there is no danger to the public regarding this death. No further information is being released at this time.
