Oskaloosa, Iowa – At the beginning of May, Mahaska County Attorney Amy Zenor handed in her resignation to the Mahaska County Board of Supervisors.
Her last day in office was May 29th, and in her absence, the Marion County Attorney’s Office is assisting Mahaska County.
That arrangement will continue until recently appointed interim County Attorney James Q. Blomgren takes over the office on June 22, 2015.
Blomgren was appointed Tuesday afternoon after three potential candidates were interviewed for the position. The Supervisors voted 2-1 in favor of Blomgren. Vander Molen and Van Weelden voted yes, while Doland voted no.
Blomgren, a former 8th Judicial District Chief Judge stepped down from the bench and returned to private practice at the beginning of 2013.
