Absentee Ballots Available For December 6, 2011 Runoff Election

Absentee ballots for the December 6, 2011 City Runoff Election in Beacon, Rose Hill, and University Park are available in the Mahaska County Auditor’s Office or by mail.

Absentee ballots may be cast in the Auditor’s Office, 1st Floor of the Court House, during office hours, from 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, through December 5th, 2011. Since the polls do not open until Noon on election day, voters can vote absentee at the Auditor’s Office on Tuesday, December 6th from 8 -11 A.M.

Absentee ballots to be mailed must be requested by using an Official Absentee Ballot Request Form. These can be obtained in the Auditor’s Office or on line at www.sos.state.ia.us/elections. The last day to request an absentee ballot to be mailed is Monday, December 5th by 5 P.M. Ballots must be postmarked by December 5th at midnight, or returned to the Election Office by 8:00 p.m. on December 6th.
