IHCC Seeking Nominations For Hall of Fame

Indian Hills

OTTUMWA — It’s time once again to nominate former players and coaches for possible induction into the Indian Hills Community College Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Hall of Fame is a celebration of the very successful athletic history at Centerville Junior College, Centerville Community College, and Indian Hills Community College over more than five decades.

Established in 2011, the HOF honors athletes, teams, coaches, and other individuals who have helped bring excellence and distinction to Indian Hills. In the past six years, 28 athletes and coaches and three individuals have been enshrined, including seven inductees in the most recent class.

Those nominated could be student-athletes who excelled at high levels, coaches whose teams were successful and who made a difference in the lives of their players, or others who had a profound impact on the college’s athletic program. Athletes and coaches are eligible for selection after five years have passed since they last competed or coached.

In December, a nine-member selection committee will review the accomplishments of those nominated and finalize the list of this year’s honorees. It is the committee’s hope that the nominees they consider will include individuals or teams from all eras and all sports.

Nomination forms can be found at http://www.indianhillsathletics.com/hof/nomination_form. A list of eligibility guidelines can be viewed there. The forms can also be obtained by calling the IHCC Marketing office at 641-683-5302. The deadline to submit a nomination is Nov. 30.
