8th Grade FB at Grinnell
The 8th grade football team travelled to Grinnell last night and took both the “A” and the “B” games against a very physical Tiger team. The “A” game had a final score of 24 to 6 that was highlighted by an Osky defense that didn’t allow a touchdown all game. Leaders on the defense were Connor Swim, Peyton Crouse, Andy Sterner, and Drew Sams. The Tigers lone touchdown came on a 40 yard fumble recovery and return. Even with their backs against the wall, the Indian defense stiffened and didn’t allow Grinnell to gain any momentum with their offense.
The Indian offensive controlled the game as well led by a physical offensive line that was winning the line of scrimmage all night. The offense was highlighted by two long TD runs by Jason Beebe, and a 20 yard pass play from Ethan Arnold to Bennett Spry for a third and and final touchdown. Jack Moore also added to the offensive output with a 60 yard catch and run to seal the deal late for the Indians.
In the “B” game, the Indians won a decisive victory 12 to 6. The offense was highlighted by J’Von Harris, Kirkland Howard, and Shawn Harris as they racked up 12 unanswered points to start the game. Once again, the defense held Grinnell scoreless until the final 30 seconds of the game when Grinnell scored on a long pass play. The defense was led by Willis Knox, Jeb Shaw, Nathan Lobberecht, and Josh Diehl.
Come out and watch as the “A” and “B” teams will take their two and zero records to Pella next Tuesday the 25th to face the Dutch.
