Wrestling rankings shifts Central to No. 22

Central College

PELLA — The Central College wrestling team slipped to the No. 22 spot in the newest edition of the National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll.

Individually, C.J. Pestano (junior, Torrance, Calif.) and Ryan Vandall (senior, Phoenix, Ariz., Moon Valley HS) are ranked in the top-10 at their respective weight classes.

The No. 4 wrestler at 125 pounds, Pestano is 21-3 on the season and has earned tournament titles at the Super 8 Invitational hosted by Wis.-Platteville and the Central Under Armour Invitational.

Central’s top-rated wrestler as the No. 2 at 165 pounds, Vandall is 23-2 on the year. He also has tournament titles at the Super 8 Invitational, Central Under Armour Invitational and the Milwaukee School of Engineering Invitational.

The penultimate home dual of the season is Thursday when William Penn University comes to town for a 7 p.m. dual inside P.H. Kuyper Gymnasium.
