WPU Improves to #11 in First Poll

Oskaloosa–A strong start has inched the William Penn men’s lacrosse team closer to the top 10 as the NAIA released its first poll Wednesday.

The Statesmen (5-3) has picked up two positions to an unofficial ranking of #11 with 38 points.

William Penn is one of four teams from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll. Mount Vernon Nazarene is the lone team in the top 10, sitting at #9, while St. Ambrose (#12) and Benedictine (#15) join WPU in the receiving votes section.

Keiser (Fla.) is the new #1 with 98 points and seven first-place votes, while Indiana Tech is second with the final top ballot. Webber International (Fla.), Cumberlands (Ky.), and previous #1 Reinhardt (Ga.) complete the top five.

William Penn travels to Ottawa, Kan. Wednesday to face Ottawa in non-conference play at 5 p.m.
