Witthauer Closes Career with Second-Team Recognition

Oskaloosa–Taylor Witthauer (Sr., Vancouver, Wash., Nursing) wrapped up her Statesmen career with her first league honor as the 2023 all-Heart of America Athletic Conference women’s soccer teams were announced Friday.

Witthauer was named to the Heart’s 14-person second team. An additional 14 players were chosen for both the first and third squads as well.

In addition to it being Witthauer’s first career accolade, it is also the program’s first all-conference laurel since 2017.

Witthauer paced William Penn’s offense with 13 goals and two assists for 28 total points. The senior notched 84 shots (35 on goal) and tallied three game-winning scores. A one-time Heart Offensive Player of the Week, she had a career-high four goals against Coe on August 30.

Her 13 goals tie for seventh in school history for a single campaign and are the most since 2017, while her 28 points tie for 10th and are the most in 17 years.

For her career, Witthauer will go down as one of the program’s top offensive stars, ranking third in career points with 69 and fourth in career goals with 26.
