William Penn Up to #8 in Third Poll
Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s volleyball team used a huge winning streak to move up in the national standings as the NAIA’s third top-15 poll was released Wednesday.
WPU (12-6, 11-4 Heart), which had a school-record 10-match winning streak at the time of the polling, picked up one spot from the previous rating, moving to #8 with 187 points.
WPU is one of six Heart of America Athletic Conference programs in the ranking. Park leads the Heart at #3, while Grand View (#10), Mount Mercy (#12), and Missouri Baptist (#15) are ranked as well. Missouri Valley, which is unofficially 19th, is in the receiving votes section.
Vanguard (Calif.) is now a unanimous #1 with 275 points and all 15 first-place votes. Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) is second, while Ottawa (Ariz.) and The Master’s (Calif.) complete the top five.
The Statesmen remain in Oskaloosa Friday, hosting Missouri Valley in Heart action at 7 p.m.
