William Penn Up to #18
Oskaloosa–The Statesmen women’s basketball team hopped two more rungs up the national ladder as the NAIA released its fifth Division I top-25 poll Wednesday.
WPU (18-5, 14-4 Heart) improves to #18 with 90 points.
The Statesmen, who have won eight of their last nine contests, are one of four Heart of America Athletic Conference programs in the top 25. Central Methodist leads the group at #8, while Clarke is #19 and Culver-Stockton enters at #23. MidAmerica Nazarene (#26) and Grand View (#33) are in the receiving votes section as well.
Oklahoma City remains #1 with 219 points and all nine first-place votes. The Master’s (Calif.) is second, while Campbellsville (Ky.), Westmont (Calif.), and Wayland Baptist (Texas) round out the top five.
The Statesmen remains to Oskaloosa Wednesday to host Culver-Stockton in Heart action at 5:30 p.m.
