William Penn Jumps to New Record Placement of #4
Oskaloosa–The Statesmen men’s lacrosse team has ridden a winning streak into the best ranking in school history as the NAIA’s second top-10 poll was released Wednesday.
WPU (7-1), which has now won five in a row, is #4 in the country with 79 points, improving two spots from its previous best mark.
The navy and gold are one of four representatives from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the poll. St. Ambrose is #9, while Benedictine (unofficially 13th) and Mount Vernon Nazarene (Ohio) (unofficially 16th) are in the receiving votes section as well.
Reinhardt (Ga.) is the new #1 with 98 points and all eight first-place votes. Previously top-ranked Keiser (Fla.) is now second, while Webber International (Fla.) is third and Cumberlands (Ky.) is fifth to round out the top five.
The Statesmen travel to Fremont, Neb. next Thursday to face Midland in non-conference play at 4 p.m.
