Oskaloosa– Deane Wichelt (Jr., Durant, Iowa, Mechanical Engineering) and Saromo Mugisha (Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Business Management) ran solid races last weekend, and their efforts netted them spots on the all-Midwest Collegiate Conference teams that were announced today.

Courtesy of top-15 finishes, both harriers were named to the honorable-mention squad. The top seven runners were placed on the first team, while nine more runners received honorable mentions for being in the top 15 or for being their school’s top runner (if not in top 15).

Wichelt, now a two-time HM honoree, was ninth on the 8K Jones Memorial Park course in a time of 29:14, while Mugisha was 13th at 29:27. Wichelt missed qualifying for nationals by just one position.

Mount Mercy’s TJ Mosbach was tabbed as MCC Harrier of the Year for last weekend’s win, while his coach Ryan Scheckel picked up Coach of the Year laurels for the fourth time.
