Where Is Ron Paul?

Oskaloosa, Iowa – Now a few days removed from the Ames Straw Poll, and the main stream media buzz machine has latched upon Perry, whom they say has now captured the evangelical vote. I question that if he has, it will remain that way, as the longer he is in the bright hot light of national scrutiny, the more of those very Christians you find questioning his past ties to Al Gore and his time then spent as a Democrat and supporting Rudy Giulani.
So, with the media now playing Perry as their darling, one might think that after they remember on occasion that Bachmann is still around, and that ummmm Ron Paul very nearly beat her at the Ames Straw Poll.
I was there at the Straw Poll when Ron Paul and his organization had a very large presence, and their supporters were some of the more vocal of the entire event. Evidently they were not loud enough to be remembered by those larger media outlets.I think Santorum gets more coverage than Paul does, and he finished a very distant fourth in the contest.
Oh, and lets not forget Mitt Romney who, according to those same media types polls, is leading nationally over Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann. He had a horrible showing at the Straw Poll, coming in behind the write-in candidate of Rick Perry. But they in the larger media would like to remind me that he wasn’t campaigning in Iowa, nor had a presence at the Poll other than being on the ballot.
So, I ask the media that swirls around my TV 24/7, if you remember that second place wasn’t that far behind first place? That you have the responsibility to put that same spotlight on him than your doing to Perry, or Romney. Is it maybe people like Paul or Bachmann, who are not the one’s you have chosen for yourselves, and so you avoid them? You think that if you avoid them, maybe, the people will forget them.
Like or dislike Ron Paul and his band of supporters, they have earned their right to be seen and heard. Unfortunately they have become all too accustomed to not being treated to either by the large media.
No, Osky News is not endorsing any one candidate over another, but what I will endorse is making sure that we as media make sure we do our best to give each candidate equal time.
Now to my gripe about the Ron Paul camp. If you want your candidate to succeed, writing, emailing and calling someone you disagree with every name in the book will not help your cause of getting you more air time, it achieves the opposite.
[…] claim has been a talking point as well by the Ron Paul camp. I actually wrote a piece about this shortly after the Iowa Straw Poll where Paul had come in a second to Michele Bachmann. I wrote this […]
