Volunteers were able to take advantage of the great weather last Wednesday during the day to work on finishing touches to the Charlie Kentfield memorial Babe Ruth Fields.

Carl Drost, Kevin Molyneux, and Dustin Van Wyk spent a majority of the day tilling and seeding grass around the Babe Ruth fields.

In the evening following a Babe Ruth game (and just before the rains came!) Babe Ruth Coaches and players were diligently grooming fields. “Our volunteers are fantastic and very appreciated” stated Executive Director, Sherry Vavra. Chad Rietveld, MCRF Facilities Manager, added that the Babe Ruth’s grooming nightly following games “Helps us [MCRF staff] out tremendously. We do not have to spend time each day grooming and they [Babe Ruth players] are doing a spectacular job!” Volunteers are always welcome at the complex and cover many different roles.

For information on volunteering, you can call the complex at 641- 672-2499.
