Turn pennies into progress during the jcpenney pennies from heaven campaign!
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Small change makes a big difference for the Mahaska County YMCA afterschool program. From July 31 through August 27, JCPenney at Penn Central Mall will be inviting its customers to turn small change into pennies from heaven. All proceeds will be donated to the Mahaska County YMCA. “Research shows that one in four students in the U.S. is unsupervised between 3-6 pm. I am proud to do what I can to make a difference for kids in our community,” said Brandon Arndt, Oskaloosa JCPenney store manager.
Supporters can also help to advance the cause by logging on to jcp.com/pennies and participating in the “pennies from heaven challenge.” By joining the challenge, participants can complete various activities online that will ultimately help generate a donation to the after school cause.
In 2010, JCPenney customers donated almost $1,300 to the Mahaska County Y afterschool program. “The Mahaska County Y uses these funds for income-eligible scholarships. This JCPenney campaign makes a huge difference both locally and nationally. The Y is fortunate to have jcpenney as a partner,” said Dawn Collins, Mahaska County YMCA executive director.
