TSA Detains Senator Rand Paul

Nashville, TN – Congressman and Presidential Candidate Ron Paul tweeted nearly 20 minutes ago that the TSA was detaining his son, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul for refusing a full body pat-down.

“My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming.”

The Senator’s press secretary Moira Bagley also tweeted about the situation saying, “Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville”

According to Ron Paul’s Facebook page, “there was an “anomaly” in Rand’s initial body scan, so my son requested to be scanned a second time. TSA demanded a full body pat down and Rand refused.”

Senator Rand Paul has been an outspoken critic of the TSA and like his father believes in a less intrusive government.
