Traveling Book Club Trip to Shiloh and Memphis March 15-18!

Book Vault

Oskaloosa, Iowa – One-fourth of the Union troops at Bloody Shiloh (TN) were from Iowa, most of them fresh-faced farm kids who had had no battle experience.
The Traveling Book Club will take a private tour of the battlefield and then spend several days in Memphis, experiencing jazz, barbeque, and Elvis!

The trip includes meals at a country restaurant, a Mississippi riverboat dinner cruise, a tour of Graceland, a walk over to the Peabody Hotel (ever heard of the Peabody ducks? Google them!), worship with the largest African-American church in Tennessee, and lots of free time for you to explore this city on your own from our downtown-based hotel.

Check out Book Vault for the books we’ll be reading for this trip. There is a $20 per person discount if you sign up for this trip before Jan. 1. But don’t wait…seats are filling fast.
