Supervisors Hear Reports

Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Mahaska County Supervisors met in regular session on Monday morning, November 18th, 2019.

During Monday’s meeting, the Board heard a report from Deanne De Groot, MCARD Director, informing the Board that they would be hosting a legislative roundtable on December 12th, 2019, at the Oskaloosa Library, between 1 pm and 2:30 pm.

The Board also heard from Dave Sedivec, who informed them that Eveland Access was closed for the season. Revenues were down for the year due to closures when river water levels rose. “Historically, we’re doing really well.”

Sedivec also highlighted the attendance at the new Environmental Learning Center for the discussion on coal mining in the county.

Attendance by the public has been high for the history presentations. “I think it shows there’s an appetite for those types of programs,” added Sedivec.
